What does AIAA do?

What is AIAA?

AIAA stands for the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics, AIAA is the world's largest aerospace technical society. With nearly 30,000 individual members from 85 countries, and 95 corporate members. With the promise to "to ignite and celebrate aerospace ingenuity and collaboration, and its importance to our way of life." At Raisbeck, we offer even more. Scroll down to learn more.

RAHS Rocketry

RAHS Rocketry

The Raisbeck Rocketry team competes in the American Rocketry Challenge which is an event where teams build their own rockets and try to get them to reach a specific altitude and land within an allotted time frame. Our work throughout the season includes designing rockets using computer simulations, manufacturing a prototype, and launching then revising that prototype. Our goal this year is to build a rocket capable of qualifying for nationals. We also are looking into the possibility of making 3d printed rockets. If you love launching rockets, engineering and building things, or 3d modeling, then the Rocketry Team is for you.

Autonomous Drone

Autonomous Drone

We are building an autonomous drone with the purpose of conduction scientific research.

CyberPatriot

Cyber Patriot

CyberPatriot is a contest in which teams secure virtual machines, basically simulated computers on your computer. CyberPatriot teaches important IT skills and challenges competitors to secure various operating systems while also conforming to the client’s needs and wishes. CyberPatriot competitions are essentially sessions in which teams solve as many vulnerabilities as they can, answer forensics questions and configure a computer to a client's specifications. Anyone at any level is welcome to join CyberPatriot.

Flight Test Projects

Flight Test Projects

Our Flight Test subteam is under the guidance of an industry mentor - an astounding production flight test pilot who has graciously donated time and his private aircraft to our cause! We have been preparing for a flight at Arlington Airport on April 28 by studying basic trigonometry, setting up GoPros to study the distance of moving objects, writing documentation, and analyzing video footage.

Flight Simulator

Flight Simulator

It’s an alumni’s former Eagle project. It is the schools only stationary flight sim that trains students in 152s and 172s. It is used to help students reduce the cost in flight training by having flying knowledge, operated by a student with a students pilot license with 42 hours whom is seeking to share knowledge on how to be a pilot.
